Vaccinations aren’t just for kids. Adults need to get immunized, too, and a study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says many adults miss a lot of protection against disease.
“Only 1 in 8 adults have received a Tdap vaccine, which protects against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis – or whooping cough. Only about 1 in 5 adults with high-risk health conditions have received the recommended pneumococcal vaccine.”
Pneumococcal vaccine can protect against a number of diseases, including pneumococcal pneumonia.
The analysis is in CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.
